Banff Springs Hotel

We began the day by driving back into Banff to visit the Banff Springs Hotel. It is among the largest and most renowned fashionable hotels resort hotels established along the steamship and railroad routes in Canada in the late 19th and early 20th century.





Bow Falls

We next went down the hill to Bow Falls. The Bow River runs between Lake Louise and Banff.




Hwy 1aWe next headed to Lake Louise taking the Bow Valley Parkway.






Slow scenic route

This is advertised as the slow, scenic route ... here you see why, it is totally taken over by RVs! Also the speed limit is 60 KM (~40MPH).

Lunch with a view

We had lunch in the Poppy Restaurant in the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Really a meal with a view!

We returned to Banff via Hwy 1, faster and still scenic.
